This is the best looking body style of the 4Runner ever produced.
This is my 1999 Toyota 4Runner. I bought it on March 30th, 2008. It was completely base in every way. I've taken it and updated the look with mostly OEM parts and made it a clean, respectable ride, It started out as a base model 3RZ, and now it's equipped with everything from an SR5, aside strictly from the engine. A lot of replacing of parts was done, as well as adding a lot of options that were previously not installed.
Thanks for looking at my 1999 Toyota 4Runner! There's a guide on the bottom of each page to help navigate between each page.

LED Taillights were $168 from eBay, made by EAGLE EYES. They are SAE DOT approved, and they're bright as almighty hell.
This picture is a bit old. Notice the stock grill, lights, and my old wheels.
It's an interesting story with my wheels and tires. I replaced the original 15" 4Runner wheels with 16" '04 Toyota Tacoma wheels, yet have since decided on 16" 2002 4Runner Limited rims. I replaced the Hankook Dynamic tires with BF Goodrich Rugged Trail tires, which got slashed, and I now ride on Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires (265/70/r16).
I replaced the original exhaust manifold which cracked with LC Engineering headers (page 2) and a K&N cold air intake.

When I bought the 4Runner, the previous owner had an Alpine radio. Half of the buttons didn't work, the CD player was broken, and whoever installed it decided it'd be great to cut off the Toyota harness. Within the first week, we returned the harness to stock and used an adapter to hook up to the Pioneer head unit from my old '87 Mercedes (left). I slightly upgraded to a newer Pioneer since (right).

It really has undergone quite a transformation, here's what it looked like the day I bought it:
You can see that it was not equipped with much. There was no roof rack, tow hitch, air deflector, or any fender trim. Also notice the faded/damaged bumpers, broken antenna, cracked license plate molding, base black mirrors and door handles, and 15" wheels.
Next is a set of photos from February 2009:
In these photos, you can most notably see the new roof rack, air deflector, retracted new antenna, wheels and tires, SR5 badge, and treated bumpers. I restored the plastics with Meguiar's Back to Black. A nice coat of dirt and mud always helps, too.
Here are some photos from July 2009.

Notice the new wheels, 2002 model grille with billet, clear corner and bumper lenses, rear bumper, exhaust tip, LED tail lights, rear license plate molding, tow package (since removed), green mirrors and door handles. There are also more little things here and there. Interior is also refreshed with sport seats, miscellaneous bolt covers, buttons, OEM cargo mat, OEM floor mats, newer Pioneer head unit, 2 Alpine subs, OEM tweeters, and mirror pods. I ditched the front plate, too.
Randomly, I was clicking stuff and I didn't even know there was a top rides section. I thank everyone for this... because I didn't even know til now!
