In 1999 we restored the Newport.

- New varnish in tone "solargold-bright" was added by a professional painter's shop
- Bumpers and trim got a new chrome coating.
- The 383-2bbl, TF727 and the whole electrical system has been overhauled.

- exhaust, generator, water pump, most of gaskets, condenser, leaf springs on rear axle, complete (!) brake system, all renewed...

Some images from the major overhaul in Dec 1999...

Beautiful car! I inherited a 1969 Newport convertible in 2005 that my grandmother bought brand new. I am getting ready to begin a restoration project on the car now. Brand new it looked just like yours does now.

Wow - a real beauty - and in Germany no less. I spent nearly every summer in Giessen when I was younger and try and get back every year or so. Love the color, love the bucket seats - I hope mine turns out half as nice! These really are wonderful cars! 5*s
