The 1971 Riviera is one of the most inspired Buick designs ever to be produced. The "Boattail" back end with swooping fenders gave a look of a large Corvette stingray, while the long hood, short trunk gave the 2 door hard top a fastback look.
Under the hood the Buick shared the same engine as the G.S./Skylark, a 455CI V8 with a Quadrajet carb. The Engine produces roughly 330 horspower and can match most Mustangs,Imports and 18 year old drivers I meet. Inside the "Rocket" is personal luxury throughout: Bucket seats, AirCondtioning , FM Radio, Tilt Steering, Power Doors and Locks and a power Driver seat. The Riviera model , as most Riv owners will attest is not the fastest car on the road nor the most luxurious, but is a perfect blend of fast and class.
