Ok i finally started on the body work i was going to put new 85 fenders on it but i found a 90 bronco II parts truck that had a good front clip on it so i thought it would look cool with that newer front clip.

The fenders and head lights would not fit right so her are some before and after pics of the core support and how i had to cut it to make them fit properly but in the end i dicided that im going to just change the core support out to the 91 core support becouse this one has some rust that i dont like and the middle of the core support is bent in and there are several stress cracks all over it.

Here it is all mocked up i had to pull the winch off  becouse this front end is about 4 inches longer and the grill ended up being right in the middle of my winch so im going to mount it down in the bumper. Now it time to pull it all apart and change the core support.

Well i bought some bushwackers for the bronco it took almost a month to get them and  i finally dicided on the new color its going be orange crush pearl with charcoal gray on the top the same paint skeem but different colors. and i still havent started on the straight axle swap yet but i have the bracket's built and ready, and i just got a 97 explorer for the 4.0 so there is another thing ive got to do I just need to find the time to work on it.

Ok here are some pic's of what ive done in the last couple days i got the front end cut of and the engine tranny and transfercase out and im makeing way for the new engine a 1997 SOHC 4.0.

Here is the new engine i was going to put in a 93 4.0 but a guy at work had a wrecked 97 exsplorer with the SOHC 4.0 and he needed a engine for his 87 ranger so i traded him my 2.9 and tranny for the whole exsplorer id say i got a screeming deal on it! Now ive just got to make it all work!!!

Here are some progress pic's of the last 3 days i got the explorer pritty much stripped of everything i need i got the motor, tranny, transfercase and the wiring, dash, firewall pulled out when i pulled the motor i realized that the firewall was very similar so im putting it in my bronco that way every thing will hook up correctly and i can use everthing from the 97 explorer. And it will look as factory as possible!

Here are some pic's of the old fire wall cut out and i found some more hidden rust i didnt no i had so it's a good thing im doing this.

Here is the only spot that does not fit right but that wont be to hard to do and the floor match's perfectly.

Alright ive got the 97 exsplorer firewall all welded in and the engine in and all the componet's on the fire wall this turned out awsome it looks factory and everthing could not have turned out better.

I also got the 97 exsplorer dash in and it looks great it could not have fitted any better its the right with and fit's right up the windsheild perfect.

Ok the straight axle swap is going to be a high pinion dana 44 front from a F150 ive had it shortend down to box bronco width it has the 3" tube's instead of the 2 1/2" tubes and im going dana 60 in the rear from two wheel drive 1966 F100 with a true track in it both axles have the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern. and the front suspension is going to be built by me with ballistic joints and the rear is going to be stock for now. But for right now im going to focus on getting it running first.

i see. so did you just cut it off or did you plan it out so it would be easy to re-attach? also, how did your differentials hold up with the 33's?
