Hi and welcome to my page dedicated to my Charade GTti
I always wanted a car that was a bit different and when i heard about the GTti i had to get one.
The Charade GTti is different because it is only a 1 litre, but because it is Turbocharged it gives cars with a lot higher capacity engines a run for there money.
Standard the Charade is known to beat the likes of the Fiesta/Escort RS Turbo, AX GTI, Swift GTI, Pug 205 1,6 GTI, Golf GTI and even BMW 318s
My Charade has a standard engine except for the dump valve, Scorpion Stainless exhaust, the Car has been lowered by 40mm using Apex springs and KYB shocks,it has G-Force brake discs and pads, the interior is completely standard except for a boost gauge, the body work consists of Novadose sideskirts modified to fit, GT4 bonnet vent and colour coded bump strips, the wheels are 16" WheelMania RVR 2s.
The GTti only has a 3 cylinder, 12 valve, 993cc engine with the added ingredient being a Turbo strapped to it, standard it kicks out 99bhp which doesnt sound a lot but in a car that weighs under 1000kg thats a hell of a lot. 0-60Mph takes about 7.9 secs with a top speed of about 116Mph not bad from a one litre. They have a surprising amount of potential as the engine is so solid. I have heard of someone tuning a GTti to 200Bhp and know of one tuned to 170Bhp wich out runs Sierra Cosworths.
I would recomend this car to anyone,as they are getting rarer there are under 300 left in the UK. If you do look at one just make sure it has got a reasonable service history and test drive it for at least 20 minutes, otherwise you could end up with a real horror story. I would also fit it with a decent alarm system as mine got broken into very easily and my stereo and a few other bits got stolen.
Cheers for looking at my site please sign my guest book.
Thanks to anyone who spotted the mistake (GT40 instead of GT4)
I greatly appreciate everyone who has looked at my GTti page over 20,000 hits and counting, and id like to thank evryone who has signed my guestbook and gave my car good feedback.
Cheers Dan
