915_Alero's 2002 Oldsmobile Alero

This is my '02 Olds Alero GL2. It has the 3400 V6 that came stock w/ a nice performance handling package. I've had this car since I was 16 and she's been through a lot. My dad and I put some mods into her to make her a bit faster. We always knew she was a fast machine from the start but now it's a different story. It began with 170hp and 200lb-ft torque.  Now I strongly believe I'm pushing 240-250 hp and at least 240 lb-ft of torque.  She's become a contender and she still gets good fuel economy (premium 93).  23 city/ 28-30 hwy

Currently riding on stock wheels w/ Goodyear Eagle F1 rubber.....awesome tires for the trip from TX to NY. I left the black MSR wheels at home.

Thank you for getting back to me about the headers and throttle body. Regarding the headers, I will not be getting the cat, just the ceramic coated headers and flexpipe, found them for $460 at mpracing.org, then of course the $150 for the coating. If I do decide to get the throttle body I will most likely get it from http://mrzperformance.vstore.ca/ they seem to have the best price. I want Eibach Pro-Kit Springs, KYB GR-2 struts and new front strut mounts, clunking noise is getting a bit annoying, then I want an A-pillar gauge pod w/ A/F Ratio,Trans Temp. and Oil-pressure Gauges, thane by the time I do that hopefully my transmission hasn't blown up, and if it has I'll just get it rebuilt with stronger internals, a tranny cooler and a Limited-Slip Differential. The 2 most important things are the headers and suspension, then I'll get the A-pillar gauges, then I'll worry about the Transmission. I know one thing is for sure, I will never get rid of my Grand Am being that Pontiac quit making the Grand Am, and mine is a 30th Anniversary Edition, of which they only made 1,996. Thanks again for the info, rated your Alero 5*.

Mike, your Alero looks amazing! I have a couple of questions regarding the Headers, how much of a hp gain was it,I have heard 18-19hp at the wheels, and how much change in sound was there, of course my car will sound different due to our differing setups, whenever I do get mine I'll just be getting the headers and flexpipe? What about the 62mm throttle body, did that make much of a difference, that's a mod I kinda wanna get but dunno of it's worth the $. Car looks good though man, keep up the good work! Check out my 03' 30th Anniversary Edition Pontiac Grand Am GT1 Sedan w/ the SC/T package and let me know what you think. Brian

Awesome! Wish I could afford the headers, how hard were they to put on? I have the "pacesetter" exhaust. Sounds great and made a BIG difference. Keep it up, nice work - gave ya 5 *'s. Ck ours out; http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3131560 .
