Coolpacer's 1980 Jeep CJ7

Here is my 1980 Jeep CJ7. It was completely restored by my dad about 11 years ago. This was his project before the Pacer came to be, and it was built with sand dune climbing in mind.  After it was finished, the decision came for a modern motor with more power, and he chose an LT1 out of a wrecked 94 Trans Am. Complete with the 4L60e 4 speed auto, he transplanted it into the Jeep. He did the transplant 10 years ago before anyone else had really done it. The engineering and ingenuity that went into this Jeep still ceases to amaze me.

Once the Pacer was done, the garage was full. Looking for something a bit more refined than the Jeep, my dad chose a new (then) 2004 Cadillac CTS-V and sold the Jeep to one of his friends. Fast forward 4 years and his friend hasn't driven it nearly as much as it deserved so he started to look into selling it. My move out west brought me to perfect year-round Jeeping weather, so I jumped at the opportunity to finally make it mine.  It's now my daily driver, and I don't think there's another vehicle that would be more fun in Southern California.

Note the 8" Bass tube in between the seats. There are nine speakers total in this beast. Polk audio speakers and amps, kenwood sub, and Alpine 9883 head unit so I have iPod connectivity. 80 on the expressway with the top down and I can hear my tunes crystal clear!
