Heres a pic of my Colt as she was when I first bought her back in 2006. She had only 1 previous owner and came with a full Mitsu service history.
Since then I have done quite a few modifications & this is an on going project, as you can see in the below pics.
First I added some new 16" Alloys. I bought a set of OZ's for just over 600 including tyres and locking nuts
Then I added a Power Flow cat-back exhaust. This was mainly for looks as the pea shooter just didn't do it for me :P
I then added a Clifford 950 alarm with remote start so no1 cud nick my pride and joy.
By now I was starting to run out of money so I went onto cheaper modifications like Kick plates, Square style plates and interior spraying.
I then purchased a K&N induction kit, bloody thing is huge :P Adds a nice note 2 the revs though :D At the same time I also added new Ignition Leads & a Stainless steel manifold and Pre-Cat, This noticeably increased HP at high end revs.
I then decided to have her BHP tested on a Rolling Road to make sure I hadn't been wasting my money. So I went to my nearest one & achieved 115 BHP at the fly. That was with a standard cat.
After making the car go faster I decided to make her slower again by adding a sound system lol.
This Consisted of:
Alpine Head Unit
8 x Infinity Kappa Component sets (So 8 speakers and 8 tweeters)
2 x Infinity 6 Channel Amps
2 x Infinity Perfect 12 Subwoofers
2 x Pyle 5 Farad Power Caps
To say this was loud was an under statement lol, was extremely happy with it until..
I decided to go for speed once again and Fitted a JDM 1.6 DOHC Mivec Engine. Putting the BHP up to around 172 As far as I know shes the only 52 plate Colt Mivec in the country.
As you can see the standard Air-Box is back on the car. Will fit my induction kit again once I rig up a Cold air feed for it.
I got this engine fitted with a light weight crank pulley to squeeze out a few extra horses, and had a full service, everything was changed, all belts and fluids.
Fitted Cyborg Front Brakes, with brand new discs and pads. Need to save up for a little while more to get the rear brake conversion done.
Also fitted some new stickers, so people know what she is :D
Bought the rear sticker from the Main Dealer for 18 but skimped out on the side Mivec stickers which I bought from eBay
Im now going to run her on Shells V-Power fuel for a few tanks then have her Dynod again. More to come
Ok, so had her Dyno'd today at Sanspeed in Bexley Heath. I was hoping for 165BHP but I only achieved 160. So I am a little disapointed. Heres the Graph..
I've just purchased a K&N panel filter and a set of new spark plugs. Going to extend the air feed pipe to the fog light hole at the front of the car, so shes sucking in much cooler air. This should increase the horse power by a couple of digits.
I'm also on the look out for a de-cat pipe for my car, once i've got that im gonna go for another power run and see what she puts out.
I've decided to fit the standard manifold back onto the car as it has a slightly bigger bore size & at the same time witted a front upper strut. Really improves the handling of the car, wish I had bought one years ago. Also just bought the De-cat so should arrive within the next week.
K&N panel filter finally arrived so i've fitted that, seems to make a slight difference but nothing worth mentioning.
Gonna head over to Sanspeed again once the de-cat is fitted to see if i can improve on the 160BHP from my last run.
