So... This is Brutus. A 1990 Audi V8 Quattro, with 191k on the clock. It runs solid, and sounds wonderful. Just like any Audi, the CV boots are torn. I will be putting in new axles soon, getting the AC serviced, the tranny serviced, change the plugs and fuel filter. The V8 is wonderfully tight, but I have to change the exhaust and lower it as well.
I intend to just ravish this car with attention. The System, which has been transplanted from its little counterpart. See UROTRSH, my other Audi. Head unit: Eclipse CD8454, triple 8V preouts and aux input. High end: Beyma 130mm competition fronts, and 170mm source point Eclipse rears. Low End: MB Quart PWE304. Sealed box. Clean Power: 0 GA power/ ground wire, 2 Directed 1.2 Farad Caps, 140A Circuit Breaker. Stinky Power: Orion HCCA 250R. Modded. .67ohm, stable. It will eat your lunch and spit in your face. You could weld with this amp. High end power: Orion Cobalt 465. I love my old amps.
This is the beginning of a revolution. This will be a muscle car like nothing before it. You all wait and see.
***UPDATE***
Some minor updates to fill you all in on... The car made it from Boston to California, netting an average of 21mpg across the country!!! From a V8 all wheel drive sedan; averaging 81mph. Who needs a Prius??? Also, I am not content with 10 out of 18, I've seen the other V8Qs on here, and BRUTUS is definitely the cats meow. And, with the addition of a Magnaflow exhaust (Dual 2.5" in/out) she sounds like a real muscle car. New system additions as well: Rear Alpine Type S SPS693A 6 x 9s, Memphis Car Audio PR4.50 Power Reference A/B amplifier, and Eclipse CD8455 Head unit.
Coming Soon
Since I've reached the realization that this car will probably never be finished and that I will never EVER give up this car, we have some immediate plans to undertake, and then some long term thoughts for the future of me 'n BRUTUS. Immediately: Flat black Paint, and bodywork. Deleting all chrome trim sans for my Rings. Clear corners and side markers. Blacked out tail lights. 2Bennett or H&R Springs coil springs and KYB Struts. Drive and enjoy.
Down The Road
With 203k on the ticker now... I will be in the market for a new engine soon... I've opted to stay with the 3.6L v8 (depending on availability at the time), but I've decided to blueprint the new engine before re-installation. Web Cams out of Riverside, CA can custom grind a set of Four Bumpsticks for the New DOHC motor. 034 Motorsport from the Bay area has rods and bolts for the block and heads as well as exhaust for a Twin Turbo setup. THATS RIGHT. TWIN TURBO AUDI V8 QUATTRO. Others have it as well, but I've sourced a pair of matching Bosch KKK Turbos from a pair of Porsches, and someone to map my ECU when it's all together. I did, however find a 4.2L V8 out of CT Tonight... Hmmm.
Recent Kills
2008 M3 (no joke) 20mph roll to 75 mph, I just killed him; 2003 Ford Lightning; 2007 Ford Mustang GT; Lots and lots of little imports that don't like the sound of a V8.
