Mods: KYB GR2 struts, Nuespeed 1.5" touring springs, Integra lip, Sony mp3 cd deck, cheap speakers. That's it for now. It does have a new exhaust system, new radiator, and new suspension bushings everywhere.

Last year for carbs.... I hate it. I want to switch to EFI so bad, but it involves gutting the interior completely, like the entire dash, out. All of it. Then running an additional fuel line, then swapping the stuff under the hood. I might do it, just because I like the car so much. Why?

1. It's a well made car. The interior is well thought out, simple, and easy to operate. Everything inside is of high quality materials, and most importantly, it's an HONEST interior, with integrity. What do I mean by this? No fake wood, fake metal, or painted plastic. That's what pisses me off about a LOT of newer cars... the silver painted plastic. That is going to look like crap in 5+ years, as scratches go through the paint. This interior, on the other hand, still looks great after 19 years.

2. Double wishbone suspension. It's superb. In city driving, I absolutely love this car, way more than my SVX. The SVX always feels like a heavy car, one that doesn't like manuvering around all the tight turns in the city. This car is the exact opposite. It loves the city.

3. Parts. They're cheap. Dirt freaking cheap.

4. Resale value. I bought it for $500 from a family member, and right now if I sold it I could get $1000-1500 for it. If I put 100,000 more miles on it, as long as I maintain it, it will be worth about the exact same.

Plans: I want EFI. Desperately. I also want a new windshield, as this one is original and when driving into the sun it's actually dangerous, due to how 'sandblasted' it is. I have a chrome valve cover for it, but I'll probably do that when I convert to EFI/drop in a new engine. Other than EFI, I'd like to keep it simple. Poly swaybar bushings. Maybe a better exhaust. Nothing fancy, just stuff that makes it a tad even more enjoyable to drive. Some people look at it and think it's a piece of shit, but once they ride around in it, they realize how nice the car actually is. I plan to keep it until I can't keep it anymore, ie, somebody hits it badly, or the thing rusts out from underneath me.

Here are some pics from doing the brakes on this thing. Rotors were $11 each from rockauto.com, pads were also pretty cheap. I buy really cheap parts for this car, and it hasn't complained yet.

In May of 2005, I was in a minor accident with the accord. I say minor because it took place at about 5mph, but it was rather major for the accord. It was wet out, I was driving on the highway in a construction area with no shoulders, and suddenly everyone locked up their brakes. I did too, and just barely hit a pickup in front of me. The problem was, his stupid ass bumper was so high that it annhilated my headlights, grill, hood, radiator, radiator core support, and a fender. I had the frame straightened, new radiator installed, and new headlights put in for around $800, and then acquired a new fender, hood, and grill for another $250. Here's the accident pic:

Thanks for checking me back. And thanks for the comments and suggestions too. I really appreciate them. Regarding those poly swaybar bushings, I don't know if i can get them here. That is a very good suggestion and I'll try to find them here. The wheels? Well, it's been that way since 2001 and i love the 5-spoke design, might have to do with it for the meantime. I once installed size 18's but didn't like the wheel design so got back to the 17's. Thanks anyway for the comments. Take good care of those rides you got. They're nice ones. Your Accord is 5 stars!
