well, we are finally making some progress.. this page is covering the 7.5 to 8.8 swap. I am also adding 1988 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe rear disc brakes, some upper control arm pivot bushings and upper and lower control arms.
here is what we started with, not quite ready to be in my car.
here we have also burned the upper rubber bushings out and knocked the metal shells out with a hammer and punch.
some of the parts coming off and going on...
new upper control arm bearings being installed, make sure you clean the mounts out! i used a dead blow mallet to persuade them in.
the brake line mount (from the original brake line). i ground the swedged portion from the original brake hose of leaving a slot. i then used my die grinder to make a hole for the bolt that will hold the braided steel hose on.
after scrubbing, sanding and paint, not half bad.
