This is my daily driver, not much, but a 1968 Chevrolet C-10 that was built by my father, Nelson, and given to me as a senior gift my junior year.

Right now, my truck got hit about a month ago, damaging the hood, grille, misaliging the fenders, breaking the core support into three separate pieces, and busting up the radiator. Soon, I will be getting an insurance check from the person whose truck hit my truck (driver remains unnamed.. my boss wouldn't tell me who) this check will provide me with a new front clip which is in considerably better shape than my front clip was previous to the hit, plus paint and primer.

My plans for this have changed so many times over the year, but some major points stay the same, which is I want a V8 with a standard. I want to build this truck from a beater truck (originally built for under 5 grand) into a show-worthy truck. Right now, I plan to restore this truck back to what it would look like orginally on the outside. On the inside, I want to have bucket seats with modern gagues, the basic performance upgrades, and a complete airbag system. I do want to have a LS-series engine, preferabbly a LS1 or LS2, with a five-speed. Modern brakes would definitely be a must, plus updates to the frame. 18 and 20 inch wheels will add the modern twist to this original-appearing truck. From this description, you could consider this a resto-mod in the works. Paint work isn't really set in stone yet, as seeing it will be a considerable amount of time before this truck is ever ready for this, but I'm thinking a 2-tone color scheme, like the original C-10 came with, Omaha Orange with a Cream White grille and lower body. For an idea on what I'm talking about, here's a link.

Matthew, I've always preferred the short-bed step-side Chevys. You have a real classic, and I think some retro mods will only enhance the character. Your likes and dislikes are pretty well spelled out, so feel free to browse my cars, and give your honest appraisal. Best of luck, and post some pics as you work through your build.
