Welcome to the Cardomain page of my 1997 Silvia S14. It's a blessing from God and a blast to ride!
Manny years I have been searching for the right car/platform to build on. Actually since I left to The Netherlands for study. So that would like 6-7 years of which each year I have been researching a car. I have looked at the Civic SI, RSX Type S, Miata, Evo, Supra, RX-7 and Skyline's.
For me the Silvia was the best platform I could get. It was cheaper to get to Curacao than the other cars (Except the Miata) and has plenty of power In stock trim. It has RWD with a stout differential and drivetrain components, matched by one of the best 4 cylinder engine you can buy. Nice looks and of course heaps of aftermarket support. By support I mean everything from engine, suspension, drivetrain, interior and exterior. It's chassis is ragid and can handle from RB's to 2JZ's to LS-1 engines. With good potential for drift, drag and road racing. So the choice was easy I would definitely have to get a Silvia!
So far no regrets it's a very nice car to have. It's aggressive and kinda nervous car to drive which I like. You have to work to keep it in control and concentrate to don't floor it at every corner or traffic light.
