To start off, I am Harper and its good to be working on a RWD car again. I've been playing with the FWD for a couple years. I will be assisted by my brother David. You'll see him in some pics I'm sure.
My daughter Courtlin and I just brought the car home. If you look carefully in the following pics you can see the numbers written on the car from the wrecking yard. They have it as a 72 but it is truly a 71, as per the cowl tag.
Here is the front view. The hood is not attached, as the hood mounts are on the front seat. The hood is an SS hood but is damaged by what appears to be an engine fire so I will not be using it.
The right fender is missing. There is a lot of primer on this side and I'm wondering what will be revealed when we strip it down to bare metal.
The bumper is pushed into the body but the trunk still closes. The trunk floor is in great shape without any serious rust. What a blessing.
The interior was full of rat droppings, old car parts, and chewed up plastic bottles. After vacuuming it out we'll have to see what the interior is like.
Inside the car was the hood mounts, the wiper blades, part of a gm starter and more chewed up plastic bottles then you can imagine. But what wasn't in the car was a rat.
