Our 2006 Honda Ridgeline purchased in '05. Realistically, we couldn't have asked for a better truck for our needs. We've added the factory Roof Rack and a Thule Cargo Box so far and will be adding a Westin Bull Bar with Piaa Fog lights when we get the chance. The only other upgrade it has is yet another Britax Car Seat.

October '08 Update :  We bought out the lease on the ridgeline as it has just been a great vehicle and we are comfortable with the original owners :) At that time, we added in the trailer hitch as we have some upcoming hauling to do and we got a 15% discount on the hardware & free install from the dealer.  This Fall I've hauled about 15 loads of leaves, branches, dirt, rocks to get the yard cleaned up.  We have about 2.5 acres with about 30-35 oak trees.  I HATE oak trees.

Harman/Kardon Drive+Play Installation

I recently (11/08) added iPod Control to the Head unit through the Harman/Kardon Drive+Play.  The setup has a small remote display mounted on the Dash and a wired remote that mimmics the iPod Control (although some functions are handled slightly different).

Currently I am using the FM Modulator Built into the D+P but it has Headphone/RCA output for when I get the aux adapter to the ridge (or pick up an 09 Ridge Factory Head unit).  It also has  an Aux input for hookup of other audio systems such as my Archos 605WiFi.  I'm also using the Cigarette lighter and have run the cables in a less than optimum location as: this is my wife's daily driver, I had a 2 yr old wanting to "scoop out dirt", and it was 40 Degrees out.  This will get addressed in late spring with the hardwire kit and pulling the dash apart.

Full Install including Display and Remote:

D+P Remote: lower left, Display: Upper Right  -|-  Another view of the D+P setup

Display - Mounted just above the radio, Visible by the passenger,  and it matches the Factory color scheme.  Could not have Planned it any better.

View from Driver's Seat: very little obstruction of view.

Remote Mounting - The remote is below/behind the shifter and doesn't get in the way - tested this first but then again, that's with me paying attention.  "D" won't be an issue but "2" & "1" might be a bit closer.

Proximity of the remote and shifter looks alot closer than it is .

Control Unit - The control unit is mounted on the metal bar behind the glove compartment.  Easy access, doesn't block the cabin filter, and it was just the best mounting place in 40 degree weather.

Control unit tie-strapped to the metal support bracket .

Total Time: about 2 hours including scoping out the best location for each unit and trying different locations for the remote.  Also spent some of the time looking at different components behind the dash because I'm just damn curious.  Also had to make sure my wife was happy with the location of everything.  If I had to do it again, it would have been 20 minutes.

Specboy, The truck Looks great, I too purchase a Ridgeline 2006 for my familys needs. I was suprised at just how nice of a truck it is. Honda has done a great job of design and quality. What kind of wax did you use for the second photo. I have never seen a truck shine so good. Keep up the good work. Remember to add some more photos as you go. Thanks for posting your ride. Check out My ride and tell me what you think.
