I drove this car all the way from Yucca Valley California to Jacksonville florida around march of 2007 and it was my daily for about 8 months then i got a caprice classic.
Its a 1980 Pontiac Sunbird and had a staright 4 also know as the iron duke before i started on it. the org. miles of the motor were 64k that my family put on it because we are one owner and it was my great granmothers daily in cali for the last 8 years intill she passed. we went to cali to get the sunbird and our 1955 chevy 150 two door and rebuilt the chevy first and now its the birds turn
So of course im not using the ole iron duke anymore seeing how its out and layin in the yard.i wne tout to palatka a while ago and pulled a 4.3 vortec v6 out of a blazer because i have a frankenstein motor in mind.i am going forced induction v6 in a car the weighs about 2000 pounds(gutted and motorless) but right now im gettin my motor fully built to hold up to 650 hp at 22psi.
now im really not into the whole ecu and computer tuning crap so im getting a card. intake manifold just so that it will be a hell of a lot more easy on me to turbo this motor. so far i have bored it 30 over and done the starting point to build the motor.
i have hyper tec forged alum. pistons that way they hold up on the 70 trim turbo, and some prettty nifty rings.also im puttin in some storn main, rod, and cam bearing so im all up to date in the bottem end.6"eagle steal rods are going to be in the spot of the old stock rods that quite frnkley i dont trust. oce my pistons come in im going to bore the block a little bit more and hone it so that i have a little bit more power but still keep my torque. and just so that i have the block all leveled out everything is getting weighed to about 55mg on the crank and ima balance the engine and micro finshi the crankshaft
so i really am bring this block not only back to life but im making this thing bullet proof.
if all goes according to my plans in my head lol this should be a very nice and different type of car and for me to just be 17 i still have plenty of time to get this car done

Are you proud of your pontiac sunbird.. help make this group larger since we're such a small population with an under-rated classic/muscle car that has alot of potential http://groups.cardomain.com/groups/22210/pages/23596 Join the group...what have u got to lose? nice sunbird btw hope everything works out and you get it looking like that orange one
