Couple years ago I got the bug to have an enclosed trailer,so I did what I always do,I talked to alot of people I knew that had one(no he didn't).Looked for a good price, and found one nearby.
We found it in Harrisburg Pa.used but in good shape. The prior owners had moved furniture and motorcycles a car or two.The paint needed a good compounding and the top had to be resealed.
The thing had plenty of room inside it was a V nose with a high roof.It had an observation deck on top to watch the racers a ladder to get there.
I tryed to pull this thing with a 92 F150 with a 302 and 4X4.I could tow ok on the flat but to get to Mason Dixon our local track we had to go over the mountains and that meant a running start, and a following wind, and prayer in some cases.
This thing was a pig! After having it for a while and fighting it up and down the mountains I contacted the factory and found out it weighed 5500 lbs without a load! Put a 2800 lbs car in there a couple toolboxes,a generator, and a pig it does make!So a Powerstroke Diesel is the answer yes?
All the features,an escape door, sadly my car sits too low to use the door, but it was nice for ventilation.
My car fit inside nice, room to move around.Wired for 110v and solid as a rock.
I got it with bare walls inside,we went to Sears and bought "Project Centers",roll around chests with plastic trays on top, yanked the tops and took the wheels off and bolted them to the floor.A piece of 3/4 plywood and some aluminum angle on the top edge, looks profesional eh?
It had a second ramp in the front wide enough for motorcycles,or a ATV.This was a super nice trailer.
My ATV fit right in there, easy to get to and get out.
Put a Honda Generator on the front with a removible cover.
As nice as it was to have a rolling garage to keep my car in it was a pain in the arse. The thing always needed washing,I couldn't put a junker in it to tow in to strip. It weighed 8,000 lbs loaded and the wind played with it if you drove faster than 65 mph.To pull it cost us more than the fuel for a day at the races,It had to go,and it did.We found a nice flat trailer with a drop gate/ramp.Pulls nice,I can put anything on there, junker, tractor, lumber, mulch, whatever!
