1971 Datsun Scarab #154. These cars were originally built in California back in the late 70's by placing Chevrolet V-8 engines in them. Mine sports a Bow Tie block as well as camel hump angle plug heads, full length hooker headers, T-10 transmission and a host of other "Scarab" options.

Here is a shot of the front suspension after the rebuild.

Scarabs were equiped with "Scarab" valve covers. When I first got the car it did not have these. After some diligent searching I found a set somebody had mentioned they had on Hybridz.org. I emailed the guy and the transaction was completed here is a pic of one of the restored valve covers. A very rare and hard to find part, so thankful I found them!!!

This is the sail panel emblem Scarabs were equiped with. Another rare item, this would be your first and most obvious indication that the car is an original Scarab "factory" car. As these and the valve covers were not sold with the Scarab kits that were avaliable.

We took the car to Branson Z fest 2006 and won Peoples Choice in 2007 they put my car on the festival T-shirts, what a cool way to celebrate the car.

Some of the literature I've collected on the Scarabs

2007 took us to Midwest Z fest in Omaha, NE. I placed the vintage removable decals on the car from my (now sold) FFR Cobra to give it the vintage "look" while we ran at Mid America Motorplex.

Car in the pits. Another Scarab option was the louvered hood show here.
