Hey, Yes I have confirmed that the G6 transmission will fit our engines. Apperently all 60 deg V6s up to 2007 and some of the new northstar engines all have the same bellhousing bolt patterns. I even checked the starter alignment and alignment dowel locations. It is about 0.3 inches longer than the HM282 that went in these cars, so there is a good chance you will have to move the AC pipe that is routed along the frame near the transmission. You will need a custom flywheel and G6 clutch+pressure plate or a 2.8L flywheel and presure plate with custom clutch. The HM282 had a different input shaft than the G6, so it is not a direct fit. Also, custom CV axles are needed and your transmission mount will have to be custom fabricated. It might be possible to piece together a CV axle from different cars, but Ill beleive it when someone sucedes at it. Ill post a couple thread links on this conversion later. Good luck.
