Dedicated to SCCA Solo autocross, this 1999 STR Miata is having fun in the Southwest.
Originally acquired in October, 2007 from a local autocross driver, our little Emerald Mica "Sport" was competing in the local autocross circuit in Arizona in C Stock. Firebird Raceway in Phoenix is our hometown facility but an occasional trip to Tucson or Sierra Vista mixes things up with various track configurations. Summer time in Arizona requires some cooling off, and the summer series in Flagstaff & Taylor are not to be missed!
We decided on the '99 Mazda Miata Sport model because of its impressive factory options including: Torsen differential, Hard S suspension and factory 15" rims. Its weight of 2247 lbs also gives it one of the best power to weight ratios for a Miata. Another great reason to autocross a Miata is that it is very difficult obtain quicker lap times without spending a lot more $$$ regardless of vehicle or class. It is arguably the best bang for the buck in autocross...
We have sinced moved on from the '99 Sport & picked up a '99 PEP
after an unfortunate accident in November, 2009. Same color, same year!
The PEP (Popular Equipment Package) comes with a few more conveniences for daily use
like cruise control & power windows. Now we have speed and comfort!
Day One: All original A month later: Prepped for STR
New 949Racing 6UL rims for daily use.
We wrapped them up with 205 50 RE-11s

Nice miata. For a data recorder check out the dash dyno. I've got one and it can do a million things. My only issue is mounting it and it is a pain to go through all the menu's. Also, how do you like the Tein's?
nice ride 5*************
nice miata. i have one question, what did you do with you MAF sen, on your intake. because when i disconect mine the car wont start.
The MAF is still there, its just hidden behind the heat shield.
Nice Miata! Sorry to hear of the loss of the first one. I love the Emerald Mica color. I always wondered what the factory wheels looked like in black. They look good! I actually raced at the Sierra Vista auto-x once.
Sweet ride!!! 5 Stars no question!!! Keep up the good work! Come and stop by www.militarytuners.com and meet car enthusiasts just like you!!! Make sure when you register, you put RPMs Unleashed Prez and your referer!! Hope to see you there! Add me as a friend on here as well!! Chris
