flumers-garage's 1932 Ford Model B

My 1932 Ford Model B sedan, stripped of it's fenders and hood, but stuffed with 500 horses of pure Ford power.

The rod has an informal nickname, "Twin Engine", because of how the polished firewall cleanly reflects the engine like a mirror.

I don't build trailer queens. My hot rods are driven more often than you'd think. And as you can see from the pictures that, except for the engine here, all mechanical, body and paint is by me.

Original car was purchased from the estate of a friend after he passed away. Off came the hood, fenders and running boards. Out comes the 289.

A new chassis, interior, and a Bokan Performance FD408 engine take the place of the originals. It prefers 91 Octane fuel, but the FD408 churns out 582ft/lbs of torque (@3900rpm) and 496 horses (@5300rpm).

Here are the engine mods per Bokan Performance:

BLOCK: Align honed, torque plate diamond finished honed, parallel decked, FD E4AE block with ARP main studs and main support girdle.

CRANK: SCAT 9000 series 4.000 stroke crankshaft with aero-wing counterweights and lightening holes in all rods.

RODS: SCAT 4340 6.200 Forged I beam rods with 7/16 ARP capscrew bolts.

CAMSHAFT: Ford Motor Sports hydraulic roller with 110 degree lobe separation.

BEARINGS: Clevite H series. Dura-Bond performance cam bearings.

PISTONS AND RINGS: SRP 10.0-1 forged Aluminum pistons with Total Seal plasma ductile moly rings.

GASKETS: Felpro complete set.

OIL PUMP AND DELIVERY: Melling high volume, pickup tube, and ARP heavy duty drive shaft.

OIL PAN: Moroso 7qt, 8" deep, kicked out front sump pan with internal baffle. Installed with ARP fasteners. Rear sump pans available.

BALANCE PARTS: Pro Products 28oz balancer and new flexplate. Both installed with ARP fasteners.

BALANCE: Externally zero balanced

CYLINDER HEADS: Dart Pro1 Platinum 2.02/1.60, 195cc intake runner Aluminum cylinder heads with stainless valve train.

PUSHRODS AND ROCKERS: Comp Pro Magnum 1.60 ratio roller rocker arms with hardened aftermarket pushrods.

INTAKE MANIFOLD: Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake. Installed with ARP intake bolts.

WATER PUMP: Edelbrock High Performance RH inlet

DISTRIBUTOR AND WIRES: MSD Pro Billet with Taylor 8mm, 90 degree plug wires.

CARBURETION: Holley 750cfm dichromate double pumper.

Put that power in a fairly lightweight Model B rod... and LOOK OUT!

Please be patient with me, there's more to come.
