The Boxster S is a great car right out of the box. However, there is always more that can be done to make it, if not better then just a little more personal. Mine is a work in progress that will alway be gitting tweeked.
The upgrades include a B&M short throw shifter, which makes a world of difference reducing the throw to about half of the stock distances. Since I was in there, anyway the cheep plastic coupling that attaches the cable to the shifter was replaced with a metal EVO coupling.
Just your plain old Boxster S with the top down.
The horsepower. The originally upgrades included a set of headers to get rid of one of the two sets of catalytic converters, an exhaust, a EVO cold air intake, and a uni-chip ECU upgrade. I was happy with the output and could definitely tell a difference over stock in performance and sound.
I was in the process of looking for a new car with more power, but kept coming back to the fact that I love my car it just wasn’t fast enough for me. I little digging found a few motor replacement companies (e.g., RUF, Roock) that would work but were more than I wanted to spend. A few articles listed Imagine Auto’s imagine auto new supercharger kit was developed in conjunction with EVO, procharger and GIAC and had been offering good results at a reasonable price.
Just some of the parts for the supercharger kit.
A look from the bottom shows some of the new parts.
From the top.
The suspension is next on the list. I have already added a front strut bar to tighten up the frontend. The stock front sway bar was replaced with a 26mm H&R heavy duty front sway bar and the stock rear 20mm sway bar was replaced with the matching 22mm H&R heavy duty rear sway bar. A set of coil-overs with adjustable height are in the future. I just haven’t decided on the brand yet.
Other replacements include:
larger fuel injectors;
mass airflow sensor;
Racing brake pads;
2 new drive shafts;
Clutch;
pressure plate;
throw-out bearing;
fly wheel.
