Oil Filter Removal Kit. I used to have the same problem as every Tacoma owner have with regards to the mess you end up with as soon as you unscrew the filter off the engine. I have totally eliminated the problem by using this locally manufactured oil catcher. I used a 2 liter Pepsi plastic bottle and cut away a section for the oil filter and another narrow section for the cable which is in the way of the bottle. With this tool, I am able to catch all the oil that drip off the filter and straight into the bottle. Just position the plastic bottle directly under the filter as you unscrew it off. I could complete the oil change without a single drop of oil anywhere on the truck or on the floor.

I've had several oil change since I started using the "special tool" and every time it works like a champ:) I hope that this will help some of you who are having a hard time with the oil mess. I realize that some people don't mind or don't think too much about the oil mess. For those of you who cares about the mess, this is a lot better than using the zip lock bags.

I remove my oil filter coming from under the truck. I just remove the rear skid plate. The front skid plate does not need to be removed. First I take my oil filter wrencn, and with a stubby 3/8 drive ratchet, I break it loose. Once the filter is loose, just before the oil start dripping, I take the oil catcher and position it in place. I then start to turn the filter loose (by hand) until all the oil is in the oil catcher. With one hand holding the oil filter and the other holding the oil catcher, slowly ease them down being careful not to spill the oil in the oil catcher. The 2 liter bottle is more than plenty to hold the oil that was in the oil filter. There you have it, a mess free way of removing the oil filter:)

alexanderng, I tried to enlarge the photos on the second page and they wouldn't open. I have this grill and I am trying to figure out the cutting. Is there any way you can email them to me? blueyeitln@aol.com I just don't want to mess up. I also got the lower piece. If anyone else wants to find this grill, I can give you the email address of the guys. They are in Cal. Thanks, Richard

Alexanderng, forget it. The pictures finally enlarged. I printed it out so I make sure to get every detail when I do the work. I did find another Grill that is sweet. http://www.usspeedonline.com/page/U/PROD/GC-Tacoma Check it out. Once I have both grills in, I'll take some pics for everyone. Cheers. R

Nice truck man. Did you do anything with the hood latch? How do you open the hood now? Thats the one thing I'm really wondering. I like what you did with the Toyota emblem...nice. Hit up my GBook when ya get a chance.
