Welcome to my page, chances are if you are searching in this section you already know what your looking at. In 1990 the top-of-the-line Cutlass Calais was the International Series. It started with the base Calais and added every option in the book as standard fare. Included in the International Package was a special 10-piece ground effects package, 16" alloy wheels, and a Quad4 2.3 liter motor. Available in the I-series was the 160hp LO Quad4 mated to a 3-speed Auto or the uplevel choice was the New-for-1990 Quad4 High Output (H.O.) which packed 180HP and came matched to a performance 5-speed getrag transmission. Other standard fare included the FE3 performance suspension (GM's highest level in it's FWD cars of the time) and a Luxury interior. Amentities included a 8-way power drivers seat, Leather/cloth sport seat featuring aggressive side and thigh bolstering (full leather was an option), available Delco CD player, standard A/C cruise, Power windows and locks, keyless entry (in 1990!), and a Driver Information System (DIS) which provided digital gauge readouts for Temp, voltage, oil life, MPG, fuel used, Speed, as well as the date and time. When the car is first started the DIS reads out "Good Moring, Good Afternoon, and Goodevening" as times dictate. In 1990 Olds produced approximately 604 I-series HO coupes, and 214 HO sedans. My particular Calais is one of those 604.

I found this car sitting in a Lady's yard in a town near mine. I eyed it for a few weeks and eventually went up to the car to see if it was in fact a H.O. I then tried to get in contact with the lady who had just recently moved and was unable to get ahold of her. Finally I happend to be driving by the house and noticed some people helping to clean the place up and noticed that the car was gone. I talked to the gentleman who as it turns out owned the house and he got me in conact with the lady who owned the car. She had moved to the other side of town and was interested in selling the car. After some discussion over the phone My brother and I went to look the car over and took a battery with us. Much to our surprise the car started right up and at that moment it was decided, I had to have it. I dont think the lady knew what she had but I paid her a fair price and we towed it home that day. Once I began to examine the car more closely we discovered that it had been in a previous accident and most of the driver's quarter panel was made of about 2 and 1/2 to 3" of bondo. Shortly thereafter we cut the Quarter off and welded in a replacement one. At this point I had the headliner re-done, new carpet installed and then reassembled the interior. The car was running great and looking better but it did seem to smoke alot as though it was burning a lot of oil, A new cylinder head with about 6 less cracks was just what it needed. Running good, and a solid car once again, the only thing left to make it a driver was to paint the new parts on the drivers's side (Fender, door skirt, and quarter panel) a form of white instead of the Red from the car that they came from. Also, the tires that were on the car were severely dry-rotted and so the car currently wears the factory Z24 Wheels from my Cavalier.
