Service and Repair log and the two restaurations

My Trans AM in a small Town in Switzerland, ~april 08

 

2008: The year of the Restauration , the Repair and yet another second Restauration year.

it begins all in dec 2007 when i bought the car.

When i bought the car the Car was in a bad Condition. The Paint was dull, the Rear Axle sounded scary as hell and looses Oil, the Rear Brakes doesnt worked at all and loosed oil...

lost a lot of oil

a ugly aftermarked radio was installed..the fog-light button dash had a hole...

all in one a project. At least, the car had no rust, the car had good basics.

Dec07: Picture of the underbody, no rust at all!

March 08: First Driving and Dull Paint, no shine at all.

 

 

In Hollidays in august 2008 something hit my Car badly, the Quarter Panel and Rear Bumper has Damaged scary as hell..

So i bringed the car back to live 2 times in the year, thanks god that im able to repair those damages, of course all in one it was worth! Expensive, but it was worth!

 

 

 

heres the log and details.

03-2008: Bring the Car back to live, 70'000miles , the first Restauration

03-2008: repaired bad rear axle bearing, 7h work

03-2008: replaced rear drum brakes

03-2008: replaced and repainted the battery bay

03-2008: replaced all four tires

04-2008: first Car Service, Replaced Alternator , Oil Filter, new Battery...and many other little things..

04-2008: Replaced the Button Dash-Pannel for fog Light

04-2008: Replaced Engine, Tranny Oil

04-2008: Waxed and Polished the Car again, but too, not the best result..still little bit dull under this crappy wax.

 

 

05-2008: Got some Extras for my car.

05-2008: installed a Tranny Cooler

05-2008: installed a new Flowtech Terminator Muffler on the Orginal Exhaust Tips.

05-2008: installet the Orginal Radio

 

~06-2008: fixing damage done by martens

05-2008: Buyed a new Paint Detaling Spray, Result now "OK"

 

07-2008: Second Car Service, 80'000 miles

08-2008: Replaced whole front disc brakes

08-2008: installed the new Chip

08-2008: new lightmotor (pop up light) passager side

08-2008: new Catalic Converter, again i needet a towing service...

08-2008: replaced all wheel bearings

 

08-2008: BAD time for my Car, something hit my Car badly..second restauration in just some months

AFTER :

08-2008: Fixed Quarter Panel Passager Side, Repaced Rear Bumper, repaintet the whole Quarter Panel and Rear Bumper. Perfect maching Paint Shop and still the orginal Quarter Panel .

 

09/11-2008: Finaly Good Times and a geat session 2008 ending 

09-2008: Cleaned now with Meguiars, it FULLY bringed back the shine and Color of the Paint, no more dullnes anymore and it even beated my expeptions! A whole new level for the paint.

 

09-2008: Bought and addet the "TRANS AM" decale for my Rear Bumper

 

 

 

11-2008, wating for new session 2009

11-2008: Bought the "Firebird" logo for my Quarter Panel

11-2008: Bought the "US Side Mirrors" to replace those ugly, export plasic side mirrors

 

 

 

 

All in one  spend over 11k $ in my Car in the Year 2008 for Repairs and the two "Restaurations".

It was worth! i LOVE the car. its my goal to keep up and optain the car orginaly like from factory.

 

Now the buity sleeps in perfect condititon during the winter and waits for the sun in summer 2009.
