first i am going to work on restoring the car. and this summer i am going to have time to pull the motor. I will be adding a crank from a 3.4L, a cam, bore job, high compression pistons, 5 speed transmission.
check back this summer

alright guys its time. summmer is here and so are the mods. just picked up a set of NGK iridium ix plugs, new plug wires and an entire rebuild kit.

The release is under the center counsel on the shifter itself.
When you push the button it pushes the inner rod and hits the release.
There should be a clip on your shifter facing the radio, remove it and the shift knob will come off, then remove center counsel and you will find the release.
The center counsel has retaining bolts under the ashtrays, and some under the "clove box counsel" which is also the arm rest.
Take the armrest part off first, then the part by the shifter.
There is only one switch, your reverse light switch, under the counsel on you linkage, this is not the lock, don't mess with it, your lock is mechanical, not electrical.
Good luck, let me know if this helps.

Well if you are going to build an engine, don't start with the 2.8 its a piece of crap.
It does not have priority main oiling, and the block is not as strong as you will want to have it.
If you want to build a v-6 start with a 3100 or a 3400, not a 3.1, there is a difference.
You can run all of you fiero parts on these engines and you will only need to replace the pistons in the 3100 or 3400 to deck hieght flat tops, and fill the coolant hole in your stock front cover, its right behind to lower rad hose inlet.
You will now have a v-6 with stronger mains, priority main oiling and more displacement than the 2.8 can achieve.
Is you car an auto or stick?
You will need to get a nuetral balance fly wheel if its a stick and flex if its an auto.
While you are at it , have the engine balanced to your old balancer and fly/flex wheel to make sure your all right.
As for subbs... its a shity prospect in a fiero.
Thats why I took out the whole ac/heater and mounted my 15 inder the front playing through the firewall into the interior.
I have taken 4 6" subs and put them in the doors of these cars and it sounds good as hell, but not like the 15.
