Welcome to the CarDomain for my 2000 BMW M5!!!

Thank you for visiting. In this page I will share the details as well a small selection of my favorite photographs of this vehicle.

This is my secondary vehicle that I purchased March 5th, 2008. This is also the first vehicle that I purchased myself, using money that I managed to save during my deployment to Ramadi, Iraq, so believe me when I say that I definitely earned this vehicle.

More than any other vehicle, I had admired the E39 M5 before I was even old enough to have a motor vehicle license and can recall enviously reading various articles praising this vehicle in Motor Trend and Car and Driver magazines.

Now I finally have the vehicle I had dreamed about back then. Every time I get behind the wheel of this vehicle it brings a youthful smile to my face. To make it even better, with a simple push of the Sport button it is as if I am 16 and behind the wheel of a vehicle for the first time again! This vehicle is truly the ULTIMATE Ultimate Driving Machine.

As with my primary vehicle, I intend on taking GREAT care of this vehicle to insure that it remains in pristine condition.

Right now this is a nearly a completely original BMW M5. I plan on keeping it pretty much that way with the exception of a few tasteful modifications.

There has been only a few modifications to this vehicle so far;
1. I purchased the vehicle with a custom radar detector that is hidden behind the grille of the vehicle and notifies the driver using lamps within the instrument cluster that are not used in the North American specification BMW M5. I didn't even notice this modification until a few days after purchasing the vehicle, but it is a really well done and stealthy modification (Cost: unknown, previous owner).
2. When I purchased the vehicle, the brake calipers had been painted red. I like this simple modification because it is hardly noticable, but for those unfamiliar with the M5, it provides a just hint of its performance capabilities (Cost: unknown, previous owner).
3. When I purchased the vehicle, the vehicle had been reprogrammed using Dinan Performance Engine Software. This software removes the speed limiter and allows my vehicle to reach its true top speed of 187 miles per hour, raises the rev limit by 250 revolutions per minute, and improves throttle response in both standard and sport mode (Cost: unknown, previous owner).

4. When I purchased the vehicle, the North American specification center console lid with the plastic slot incorporated for the vehicle phone had been replaced with the European specification center console lid that omits the plastic insert and is fully wrapped in leather. This console lid looks much cleaner than the North American specification console (Cost: unknown, previous owner).
5. I purchased and installed updated OEM BMW headlamps from a salvaged 2002 BMW 540i sedan. These headlamps simply update the appearance of the vehicle and provide a more aggressive appearance thanks to the incorporation of the illuminated celis angel eye design (Cost: $670.00 USD [cost of additional required wiring harness included] Car-Part.com).
6. I updated the taillamps to the light emitting diode jeweled celis tail light design that was initiated in 2001 and later model year E39 vehicles. These are also OEM BMW lamps and ballasts manufactured by Hella (Cost: $324.00 USD, private transaction via Bimmerforums.com).
*Total modification cost do date; $924.00 USD [excluding previous owner modifications]

The one additional modification that I intend on performing on this vehicle is;
*Upgrade from the 4:3 aspect ratio navigation screen to the 16:9 aspect ratio navigation screen.
Other than these modifications, there are no modifications that are planned. I intend to keep this as an original E39 BMW M5. Like I said earlier, this vehicle is perfect.

Many of these amazing photographs that were taken during the 2008 Rocky Mountain Chapter BMW CCA spring drive. Photography credit to Erik Melander of BlueFox Imaging for taking such great pictures of my vehicle during the event.
