Here is my latest project a 87 GMC LWB Fleetside. This one I am kinda keeping stock for a daily drive so I can work on my other trucks. I got with no trans. Someone had put in a 283 out of a 65 Impala. I am looking for a trans now. The original trans was a 700r4 and the 283 was too much for it. Whoever had this truck probably drove it like they stole it and thats why it has no trans now. It needs the usual things like new rockers and cab corners. Nothing that cant be fixed quick. I am going to keep it two tone blue. The 283 will go back in as soon as I find a 350 turbo to put behind it. It had no headlights when I got it so put I bought some new ones. All the air stuff is gone so that wont be going back in. The truck has all the options. Power everything. I will get some Regular ralleys to go on it. Its in over all good shape for a 21 year old truck. The seat is ripped up...someone left a seat cover in it. I washed it and put it back on the seat so it looks better. I replaced the tail light on the drivers side for now. Its off my old 77 that was ripped apart for parts for my 69 fleetside.
UPDATE! 3/12/08 Got a 350 short tail trans for it today! More pics to come soon!
UPDATE! 3/23/08 Found out that the drive shaft is too short. About 3 inches. Buying a new 8 inch yoke for it next Friday. Pics will be up soon on the last page.
Heres how it looked when it was towed home
