..........Well, after being harrassed enough by the wife, kids, friends, and you people on the "Domain"!!! Here is a Page for the 70! Please be patient with the progress, both on the Charger and the page. The 70 has seen assphault once in 5 years due to being broad-sided in OCT 03.

As you can see, my cage was rattled pretty good! The rim bares the evidence of how hard I got slammed into the curb!

MoparRob07's 1970 Dodge Charger

..........After several months of being on hunt for a classic Mopar, I finally found one in the "Union-Tribune" in early August 1996. The ad showed "1970 Dodge Charger 500, 318, auto, $500.00, sold as is" Called the owner and setup to see the the car the next Saturday.
..........Saturday came and it was time to check out my prospective new ride. At first sight, the body was fairly straight, a couple of dents. Color was hard to tell because there was 4 of them. Primer gray, black primer, rust and hints of sublime. Asked the owner for the keys to start it. Unwilling at first, but the Charger finally started (had been sitting for 2-3 months). You could tell a large cam had been installed as 318 stuggled to stay running attempting to feed the need of the cam with it's worn out stock fuel pump. I have to say, I was kinda concerned when I asked about taking it for a test drive and he questioned me back with " you really want to drive it?"
..........I decided that even in the condition it was in, I wanted it! It was a Charger, it was a '70, it had a V8 and it was $500.00!!! I gave the owner the money, he signed over the title. When I was ready to leave, he asked if I wanted a tow truck. I told him no since I had a friend that was going to follow me and I wanted to drive it!
..........In my attempt to drive the Charger home, I began to understand why the previous owner suggested a tow truck. It began from the driveway. Since the Charger had no reverse, I had let the car roll down to the end of the driveway, then push it out into the street before putting it into Drive. It thought about it for a second, then began to lurch forward on it's own power. No reverse, no big deal! I didn't need reverse to get home. I was on my way. Round the corner and to the first stop sign. The brakes, I have to say seemed to have the reaction speed of a three-toed sloth! Once my foot was buried to the floorboard, The Charger had come to a stop. After 20 seconds of waiting for a clearing in the traffic to cross the street, I noticed this red glow coming from the left side of the dash.
Yep, you guessed it, the "BRAKE WARNING" light had illuminated and the car began a slow roll. I pumped the brakes quickly a few times, to build enough pressure till the clearing came! Again, I was on my way! I realized around 6 blocks of traveling in my new Charger, the harder I pressed the gas, the slower it went. It wasn't even going into third gear. A moment of clarity came to me that, perhaps, the previous owner had a good reason for suggesting a tow truck. At this point, I put my pride aside and did just that.
..........An hour and a 1/2 and $35.00 later, the Charger was in my driveway! 4 different colors, no 3rd or reverse, leaked every fluid, almost no brakes, cracked windshield, and just plain, flat-out neglected, BUT, it was mine! This is the end of the chapter, not the story! (old pics on Page 2)

..........When I got the Charger, the girlfriend's kids, (now my wife and kids)thought it sounded like a beast! With the oversized cam and basically straight thru exhaust, it was pretty loud! Also, there was this intimidating sticker on the driver side vent window.
