02/26/2008 Taking delivery of our 2008 Shelby GT, Vista Blue, CSM 08SGT0235. Yes, we are in our early 50's, but we never got to own one of these cars when we were teen agers, and we've worked hard to get where we are now, so we are rewarding ourselves for that hard work!

This car is AWESOME! I'm 50 years young and never thought I'd ever own something like this, but the price was right after it sat on the dealer floor for 5 months, so I couldn't pass it up.
For those of you who didn't know that the Shelby GT came in Vista Blue, if you'll check around on the web about the 2008 Shelby GT, you'll find that it is the ONLY color available for the 2008 year model with the exception of about 200 Grabber Orange and 100 Black With Red Stripes for the Barrett Jackson Edition. The first cars 1-219 were the Grabber Orange. The first Vista Blue was #220 and AFBLUE owns that one...Mine was right behind his at #235 or the 16th Vista Blue SGT built for 2008!
The more I drive this car, the more I fall in love with it...I've taken several trips in it now, Dallas, Austin, and our vacation trip to Key West, Florida. Everyone gawks at the car and wants to know about it, and it handles so fine on the road. Passing slower cars is as simple as mashing on the gas pedal...all of a sudden you're in tripple digits before you know it...I added the GT500 spoiler to plant the rear end a little better at triple digit speeds. Some say that the spoiler is not in the air flow and does nothing, but my butt says different. It feels a lot more planted now to me anyway!
