This is my 1972 Super Beetle. I started working on a 71 Super and when I stripped it all the way down found alot of rust and damage. So I went ahead and started looking around for parts for the 71 when I came across a 72 with a better body and for only $400. So I purchased the 72 and started to work on it in stead of the 71. Now my 71 is a parts car.

These are the front and back view of the 72 ready for etching.

This is the interior which will later be blasted and primed.

Side view of the 72 tring to get an idea of which way I want to head in my color selection later.

I went with a no vent style decklid for a vleaner look and also added chrome hinges and deck spring

This is a trial run fit on the stripped down right front fender. Later to be welded up for no turn signals.

Deffinately will not be using these style seats. Low boys rule.

Installed a new glove box hood latch and front chrome hood hinges with hydraulic rather than old spring style.

looking at the rear fender that came off the 71 and it has some damage but fixable if I decide to use it. These rims actually came with the car amazingly enough, but I am at the moment tring to sell them for $400 o.b.o.
Here are some of the pics when I was finished etching the car up.
These are the doors etched up and ready for some repairs and paint.

These are the front fenders and hood after etching and now ready for body work and paint.

Here is the mock lineup of the front fenders, hood, and doors aligned and attached to the 72.
