Cooling & Heating

Couple of weeks ago, we took out the old radiator and fan shroud, and ordered a new one. This is what the old radiator looked like:

Pretty hideous, eh? As you can see, theres heavy corrosion on the cooling fins and both the top and bottom tanks. I'm sure the corrosion on the top tank is from careless antifreeze re-filling, but the corrosion on the fins and bottom tank obveously mean there is a leak, which is NOT good!

We got the new radiator and fan shroud in and they look great installed!

When we pulled out the old radiator we messed up the old transmission cooling lines, so we had to order so new ones. We got them in quite awhile ago, but never got around to installing them. We installed them on 09/13/08, but when we tried to start the car up, the lower line started leaking.

It turns out the old brass fitting was cross threaded(which explains why it was so hard to screw in), and missing it's rubber gaskets. I ordered a new one from CJPonyParts today(12/22/08), so hopefully I'll get it in not too longer after christmas and be able to get the 'Stang running!
