Saavedro88's 1986 Mazda RX-7

This is my 1986 Mazda RX-7 GXL. I had to sell my 87 Supra, Vashti, (who I was in love with) to get her, but quite frankly, Vashti wasn't running and it no longer made sense financially to keep her. I sold her for $600 and used $400 to buy Felicity here.

Ever since I got fired in January 08, I had been thinking about selling the Supra for money, since she was just sitting there. The only person I felt that would have really appreciated it though (The person that helped me rebuild the motor) Wasn't very interested so I put that idea on hold. Thursday, February 21st he gives me a call saying he's interested so we agree on $600 and that he'd pick it up the 26th.

Monday the 25th comes up and I get a call from another friend of mine, "Guess what I just picked up for Fifty Bucks!!!" Apparently the pot-head that he had gotten it from didn't know much about cars, and had some fried up spark plugs. A few bucks later, my buddy had a running FC.

Being the fan of FC's that I am, I immediately pounced on the situation, offering him $250 since that's what he would have made if he had crushed it (Which for some reason is what he wanted to do... go figure). He said that was too low and that someone had offered him $350 for it. I offered him $400 And he took it.

I drove her away, coughing, sputtering, backfiring and slipping. A little tweaking and some ATF later, I have my beautiful Felicity.

Sweet looking FC. Thank you for joining Club Rotary. Sorry for the delay in your acceptance, I was on vacation. Come check out my '93 RX7 when you get a chance.

Nice find man. Can't believe you got that for that price. I've been debating on picking up a 1st or 2nd gen RX-7 as I'm a Mazda fan, if I found one for that price I'd definitely would have grabbed it. Best I could find was a convertible FC for 1k, but had a bad top and some other issues so I didn't go for it. Good luck man, I'm definitely watching this project. Check out my Escort project (Mazda Protege clone hehe).

Mann that car is mint for $400,, not a spec of rust, and just CLEAN! keep your page updated, and good luck with your build. Check out my 1998 Sunfire i picked up for $1500 and spent $40 on interior work, that changed everything
