This is a 1986 BMW 528e built on the E28 chassis. This car was equipped with a 2.7L
I-6 motor (M20B27) producing 121 HP. This car can move, however, it lacks serious power. The "e" means the car was built with economy in mind.
I am currently fixing up the car and have made a few upgrades. The exhaust is completely custom and sports a MagnaFlow cat and a Borla racing muffler (purchased at
Summit Racing). Also installed is a short shift kit and performance ignition wires (purchased at
Bavarian Autosport). I have also installed a Sony XPlod receiver with a set of Sony XPlod 12-inch subs, a 2000 Watt amp, and a 3 Farad power capacitor.
Eventually, I plan on swapping out the old engine for a rebuilt turbocharged 3.4L I-6 (M30B34) motor out of an old 535i. The engine originally produced 182 HP, the turbo system will boost it up higher than that.
