Update December 2008
Although this little car was sold quite some years ago, i found some old pics and uploaded them. These pictures were scanned from old photos so the quality might not be up to scratch. scroll further down to see them.
1986 Volkswagen Polo 1.3 Coupe "Sprinter"
This little VW Polo was my first car, i bought it of a friend in real good stock condition, it never let me down and i had a lot of fun with it. It was a special version available only in Holland called "Sprinter" with 13" BBS alloys (not the spoke wheels), a sporty steering wheel, a rev meter, the double headlight grille and a "Sprinter" decal along the side.
of course i couldn't be driving a stock looking car so i did quite some work on it and spent some time in the junkyard looking for parts. this is how it looked like when i traded it in for my '94 Polo G40 Genesis, because i was looking for something a little faster.

What it looked like before the major overhaul.
It had the double headlight grille, plastic wheel arches and lots of badges and stickers on the trunk. You can also see the "Sprinter" striping on the side, that's were it gets its name.

Before lowering with the previous wheels
With original shocks and springs, rolling on 7x15" ATS Cup wheels with 195/50 tyres. Man it looked like a 4x4 :) I Bought the wheels from a co-worker who had them on his lowered but stock looking Golf 2, loved that look and those wheels. ATS Cup rims were quite common in black back in the day, but these were in white and rare.

Unfortunately i can't find any photos of the state i bought it in.
Apart from the Victor steering wheel it was stock.
And finally a little paint shop pro work of my projected goal for the polo: shaved, slammed with widened wheel arches and those beautiful ATS Cup rims:
