1992 Camaro RS 305 (5.0) with 5 speed manual Transmission.

Minor mods done to it thus far are K&N air filter, Flowmaster Exhaust, Hyptertech Computer Chip, Underdrive Pulleys.

Sony CD player, with 10 disc Sony CD Changer Sony 6x9's, Rockford Fosgate AMP w/ 2 Sony Xplod 1200 12" subs, in custom made box I made myself. (will post pics soon)

I want to pull the motor out and rebuild it, but not sure what to do to it. I want to keep the 305 block and completely rebuild it but some people are saying to put 350 in it. I want to keep 305 in it and see what I can do with it and to be different and not put the typical 350 in it.

I dont want to do a drastic overhaul on it but want to do things right and keep it street legal and not carbureted.

I have thought about putting turbo on it also or supercharger if possible.

It still runs good at moment and has 172000 miles on it. I am planning on pulling motor out sometime in near future when I have extra cash and doing a complete rebuild.

Some of my friends are telling me to just put a 350 in it, but for some reason (don't ask me why) I want to keep the 305 in it and build it up to keep up with some of the big dogs.

To let you all know I do not want to go all crazy with this, I want to keep it street legal and a somewhat of daily driver. But want some opinions from some of you who may know a little more on what would be best for me to do (ie. What motor would be best, etc).

I am thinking about putting twin turbo charger on it if possible but like I said before I look more into this I would like some opinions on what to do and what not to do.

But would like to really super charge it. I am probably going to get a gen I 350 and build it right for what I want.

Thanks for everything in advance.

If anyone has any ideas on what I could or should do let me know.

Beautiful car! I can understand wanting to keep it a 305, but.... a 305 block is just about identical to a 350 block, just with smaller pistons and a shorter stroke. if you took it apart to rebuild it, you will probably need to bore it at least a little anyways (unless them cylinders are perfectly round, and at 177,xxx miles i doubt that), so while its getting bored, its up to you how far you want to take it. but keep this in mind. it costs the same to bore a hole 3.48" as it does to go to 3.75" the only difference is in buying the pistons/rings, and a bigger crank if you are switching to a longer stroke. talk to whichever shop is going to do the machining, and they can give you more clear options, and the prices to go with them.

For a cheap boost in ANY engine, i would definately put a nice cam in it, that makes a world of difference.

Keep up the great work. that car is awesome!

Nice ride, right now mine still has the factory 305 in it, I've already put a few mods on it, K&N air filter flowmaster exhaust and a new cam, I plan on rebuilding it instead of droppin a 350 in it.
