pearst2's 1980 Jeep CJ7  I bought this CJ in September of 2007, after my XJ was murdered by a 15 passenger van on hwy 62. It is really quite stock and rusty. The only mods that were done were the led tail lights (which may be removed)and the diamond plate that is covering holes.
It only has the 151 4cyl. but it does get 20-22 miles per gallon.  I drive this almose every day from St. Paul to Minnetonka.  Many people are shocked that I use a 29 year old vehicle to get me to work, but the repair bills are cheaper than a car payment.  The top was off all summer this year.  I took it off July 4th weenend and did not put it on till the first weekend in October. pearst2's 1980 Jeep CJ7

Swap to a YJ tub.  I have the tub just need to do the work

Nice CJ. It's always great to see fellow CJ owners putting elbow grease and time into what is truly the best Jeeps. Nothing beats a well built CJ! I have an 84 CJ that I have been working on for the past 4 years. If you get a chance to check mine out,..let me know what you think. Keep up the great work

Not sure how much rust is on the frame and bottom of the tub, but you do have a nice starting point to work on. It is a good looking jeep. Check out my 1980 CJ7 that I am starting to restore.
