1979 AMC Jeep CJ7- I bought it when I was 14 years old from a old lady who lived in the middle of no where. It was hers sons and he was in jail for selling drugs we heard about it from one of my uncles who had recently bought a vehicle from her. It started out as a orange renegade with a brown interior white top and a 258ci with a 3 speed manual. All the springs were shot the front crossmember was cut up and the frame was spread out at the engine mounts. The body was very rusty and it had been used a soil tester so there was a hole cut in the floor under the passenger seat. We got it home and started with a two year restoration/modifacation. We straightened the frame and replaced the crossmember put in a 4in lift kit with all new hardware and 1/2" lift shackles. rebuilt both axels and put one piece axel shafts in the rear. We tried to repare the body, but soon found it wasn't worth it with all the aftermarket ones out there. It has fiberglass tub from Shell Valley, steel fenders and winshield frame from omnix ada, original hood and grill shell with luvers punched in the hood. We built a small block chevy with hi compression pistons w/ fairly lopy muscle car cam, hedman headers, corvette valve covers, cast iron four barrel vette intake, electronic conversion for the points ignition, rebuilt the radiator, put on 2800 cfm electric fan, edlebrock 650 avs offroad carb, accel 8mm pro wires, many other mods to the motor just can't remember, its backed by a rebuilt turbo 350 with a shift kit, to get it to the rear axel we used a Novak conversions adapter and we also used there weld on motor mounts and the tranny mount t-case we had a custom driveshaft with a cv joint made. We built a six point roll cage were its actually connected to the frame with a racecar tubing bender. We also built the front and rear bumpers with a spare tire carrier. In the interior it has a custom carpet kit with besttop seats. I built the dash to hold the six auto meter pro comp gauges and a custom cd player mounting hole. B/M ratchet shifter. Ron Francis wiring kit with there switches, the fuse box they use is stainless steel with each fuse labeled there stuff is awesome. Over head its got 4 160watt pro comp lights and I have 2 lights for the front bumper that are 55 watt driving lights. all the lights were replaced with new ones. Pro Comp 17in wheels sporting Pro Comp Xterrain tires sized I beleive 315/75r17. There are so many modifacations I can't remember them all, but thats a good share of them. Check out my Harley too. It's the Yellow one.

I've been asked whether or not this things seen dirt well, It's seen plenty. We don't have many off-road trails around here, but we've got plenty of places to go. Capability wise it's only been stuck twice the first time I buried it in a sand wash that had clay underneath. Each tire had it's in hole going straight down so I couldn't move anywhere and the bumpers were sitting on the ground. It took about six hours of digging and trying to pull it out with my dads 2003 Dodge Hemi 2500 four door long box with goodyear MTRS on it and 4:10 gears to pull it out. The second time I was driving through a stock pond about six miles out in a pasture and apparently it had a dugout right in the center because I dropped the front end in and I shut it off before the motor pulled in waterso it wasn't really stuck but nevertheless it had to be pulled out. Future Mods maybe a stroker 383 small block that we have, but we dont have heads. Might go with a vortech bolwer but other than that I really built so it was the way I wanted it when it was done. I got my off-road vehicle done so I bought my fast daily driver check it out. Its a Stang.

Nice CJ! It's always great to see fellow CJ owners putting elbow grease and time into what is truly the the best Jeeps. Nothing beats a well built CJ! I have an 84 CJ that I have been working on for the past 4 years. If you get a chance to check mine out,..let me know what you think. Keep up the great work.
