Well this is the page dedicated to my new ride. A little history here, I was a non-petrol head and then as I started getting interested in cars it was time to build up my own ride... and get rid of my crappy ford fiesta. So after a few weeks of thinking I set out to find me a mark 3 ford cortina. and the car to give you a timeline was bought in june 2007

The body was finally found in a old scrapyard .It was...in pretty bad nick...

as you can see it was not the best of nick. but lucky for me. My dad is in the panel beater and spay bussiness so with his help, the restoration started. and tough it would be.

right now, the guy i bought the car from was shady and in my haste i didnt find out what my r2000 got me... a shell. so heres the car when it got delivered to the workshop and some more pics to show the bad nick it was in.

but times moves on now finally bodywork could start. and wow, there were times when i thought things were going downhill. heres some pics of them working on the car.

well, the back was in such bad nick.. and extra part was needed. and no small extra part.. a big one.

but things were now moving along. there was still lots of work and parts to find but here it is in december 2007.

and at this time the colour was tested on a door.

right now while all this was being done a engine was being found and fixed up. now im not to good with engine works but it was treated to a new cam.heres how it started and what it grew up into

then heres it being installed. this is a 3l v6 so its a pain to fit by the way.

fianlly it was time to start spraying her. started with a nice white under coat and then to its custom colour of merc onyx with sparking silver added.

the last thing to be done was to fit some wheels on, now im still saving for mags so my fiesta wheels seemed to be a good choice as they are the perfect size for the cortina.

this is now 14 feb 2008. alot of work and still not finished, but hopefully the car will be running and be ready by the end of feb! will load more pics later but this is it for now.

Ok, just went to go get the car this last weekend. 21 feb 2008. sigh. Well due to new regulations I could not get the car even through police clearence. That being said on a test run, After 7km The car broke down... Obviously the car is car from being ready. Though to its credit it was trying to run without an air filter and the carberator is.... not really there. so not all bad. In general it looks good, that paint was finished up some more and it LOOKS amazing. so theres A plus, I will put some pics up when I get the new photos.

right finally have the car... and there are some issues. Oh well, that was to be expected. The car sits skew. So off to BIG Boss auto in south africa to have new springs, to check shocks, to fit mags, etc. Now the car looks amazing, but after the new springs still sits skew. oh well. back she goes. Ive also started construction of speaker ports and a box for the subwoofers. here some pics...
