MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge AvengerThis car started off as a ins. fraud case. I chased it around for three years tring to get paper work on it.
MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge AvengerThe door handles were gone, There were no keys, And lots of crap shoved in the trunk....

MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge AvengerAfter draggin it from under the snow we got the day before. I had to use a hanger to open the door from the inside.... Boy did that get old quick. I have done it so much its easy now.

MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge Avenger

now was time to pull the old motor and get to work.... Fun Fun.

MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge Avenger

After having spent four hours pulling the motor. I had it out to find a surprize.....

MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge Avenger

Number one and two pistons were in the oil pan.... God a blown head would have made me much happier... But the I got lucky.

MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge Avenger

I found a good motor. For $95 no less. Good thing I have some friends that could help me find it.
MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge AvengerAfter five hours of putting the motor in by myself. I was ready to put the hood on and call it a day.

And somthing happns again.

MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge Avenger

100 miles after the joints were replaced the motor developed a bad knock. Time for a new motor. enough of playing with others head aches.

MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge Avenger

So i got a new headlight and smoked turn signals.

This is my motor donated out of a 97 Eagle Talon. With New parts.

MrMopar472's 1996 Dodge Avenger

Here is it in and running that same day.

Now due to my Stage 2 cowler head and cam, 2.2 stroker kit,  header, down pipe, and high flow cat being for an eclipse i had to weld in 2 inches of pipe. The rest of the pipes have been opened up to 2.5 mandrel bent with a twister muffler and a clasic truck tip. Pics to come of that When i get it in the air. Finally Have 1500 miles on the new motor. Still the car can use more power. right now 207 hp with 192 tq. tranny will hold up to 500.

I warp my stock rotors. Check out the upgrades.

I made sure that my ride was mechanically straight before I did anything else to my car, I had the EGR valve replaced upper and lower o2 sensor and the controll arm, new brakes all around, and oil changes done every 3k made sure there was no leaks, and everything was in order I have no plans to modify anything. I feel that if it aint broke dont fix it. She shifts perfectly, no smoking no stalling she is all good, the only thing I plan on adding is an intake, but thats it. I am going to keep her pretty stock.

Nice ride, I saw a post of yours referring to the doors saggin, if you have the cash get the verticle doors and replace it all that way. The hinges and all come with the kit so it would fix your saggin. But check your pins in your doors first, sometime they wear weird and a simple replacing those is very cheap and little time to.
