C5 Brake pads on my GTO Calipers:
THis is a comparison between OEM pads, the GTO pads and the C5 Pads...
Here is the difference in pad material between the GTO and C5 pads whcih by the way are mounted on the same back frame...
And the pads on the caliper bracket...
Here is the difference in swept area on the rotor.
This upgrade cost me 32$ (AutoZone) Semi-Metallic pads, and about 30min to install and I think the braking of the car improved by maybe 15-20%, the actual pad material is around 25% more.
Clamping force is not an issue now the tires became the limit of my braking performance. Amazingly I can still lock up the 245 tires up front, but thats only during hard stops... otherwise the brakes feel more confident then ever before.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
