This is my 1973 Chrysler Newport Custom (custom). The car was originally gold with tan interior. The original motor was a 440 with 727a 3 speed transmission with 90,000 miles. The two doors are becoming very rare. I purchased the car from a used lot in South Dakota. I had searched for more than 4 years for a two door and only found 2 two doors for sale during that time. This is the same exact model as my first car.
The car has been lowered 6 inches, the door handles, mirrors, door locks, side molding, side markers, and antenna have all been shaved. The bottom of the car was very rusty so we cut out all of the rust and put in patch panels with plenty of mud.
We are currently rebuilding the suspension and installing a a custom built 425hp race 440ci motor. We have removed the air conditioning and many of the useless parts off the engine. The engine bay is custom painted.
We are also installing a rebuilt 727a 3 speed transmission, and the rearend is original.
The interior is completely out at this time, as we are doing a complete customization. The seats are the original but are recovered in heavy vinyl in wild colors. The seats will be the only stock item in the interior.
We are almost ready to build the custom dash and custom stereo system and we will get pictures up as soon as we can. We are also doing many other interior customizations to the car...and those will be shown in the future.
