V8 Swap. I have decided that it would be marginally more exspensive to swap in a V8 then it would be to rebuild the 2.8 and regear my axels to make wheeling easier. Wheeling with 3.45 gears and 30" tires sux. I was given a '75 351 Windsor with a 157 tooth bellhouing C4 for free. Can't beat that. The engine was unable to be started by the previous owner, and after looking at it's general condition, I'm sure it needs to be gone through. I however, got a C5 that had been rebuilt for $200. Swap the bellhousing and valvebody from the c4, and I'll have a V8 in my bronco II. The project is currently in suspension untill I can get another daily driver, and demote (or promote) the Bronco to "toy" status.
Explorer Spring Upgrade
Putting the stock srpings from a 91-94 4 door Ford Explorer gives a BroncoII a 1.5" lift, as well as firming up the ride from the Explorer srpings stiffer spring rate. Check it out: Before and after: The B2 spring has more free arch, but is softer and pratically goes flat under the rig.
