Page 1 - The Tear Down Page 2 - The Frame Restoration Page 3 - The Drive Train Restoration Page 4 - The Body Restoration Page 5 - Fabrication Work Pictures of what I started with on 2/5/08. Pictures of work as of 2/9/08 actually got the tub off with alot of help will show those tomorrow. Alot of plans for this old jeep. 1st sand blast and strengthen the front passenger frame with 3/16 steel. I am also going to rhino line the entire frame. Motor and tranny runs great just need to get rid of the smog system. I have to replace my body mount bushings, so I think I am going with a 1" body lift and a 3" suspension lift. I am going to replace the 2 front fenders and do not know what else until I sand blast the tub. I know there is alot of sheet metal damage but do not know the full extent yet. Thats why they make replacement panels. Once tub is fixed I will Rhino line the entire inside of the tub and the bottom up to the bottom of the doors on the rocker panel and camo clad the entire jeep. Many morre plans but thats for later this is getting long.Ok here are the pictures from 2/10/08. I have accomplished my first goal by having the chassis and tub ready for sandblasting. Found some more work so this project may get extended by two months because of money. I am going to replace the frame to body mounts and a new radiator and I am sure many more things. I am going to take a little extra time and money and build this jeep to last and do what I want. Here are some pictures from 2/10/08. Friday 2/15/08 - My dad and I spent a few hours after work sandblasting the frame with the front end and rear end.2/15/08 - As you can see we found a leak in the rear end cover and all the brake line were leaking. We plan to braise the rear end cover and replace the brake and fuel lines. Saturday - 2/16/08 - After much thought and discussion with my dad and the other guys around and since I have a new 4" Superlift suspension lift to put on we spent the day removing the frame from the front and rear end. Some of these pictures will show the rear end of the frame and the bad shape it is in. Notice where someone has welded angle iron to the frame (apparently with the body still on). I know I am not the best welder in the world but a dirt dobbler does better work. I will get some close ups of this welding. Now the frame is on the horses and we can cut off the old patch work and reinforce it the way it should be. I will have to cut off the shackle brackets and clean them up so that we can bolt them to the beefed up rear end. Sunday - 2/17/08 - I forgot to take the camera to the shop, so no pictures of todays work. I only worked about 2 hour since I helped my brother fix his Explorer to clear room in the shop and there was a race in Daytona. I did work on the outside passenger side frame plate. I got 2 holes drilled before I quit for day. I have hazmat technician refresher class next weekend so it will be weekend after next before I get alot of work done on the frame.

Very nice build project. It truly will be "your" jeep. I think I might have stuck with the Rat-Rod style Street Sign floor pans though. Juts kidding, very nice work. Can't wait to see the beast running the trails.
