Upgrades as of August 13, 2008.

The engine bay has been the focus to dress it up to match the exterior orange. Here are some pics of the black chrome engine caps from Nakid Parts and painted engine pieces from RPI Designs. The black chrome engine caps are re-engineered to the stock caps making it one assembly. Also, the dipstick was replaced with one in black chrome. The coolant surge tank, master cylinder and battery covers are easily removed and they are secured with 3M velcro.

Here are pics of my new Llyod Floor Mats and Cargo Mat from RPI Designs. The Lloyd floor mats cover more of the floor than than the stock mats. The fit and color matches perfectly. The Llyod floor mats are thicker than the stock mats and are well constructed.

Not getting the performance you deserve from your late model GM Vehicle, let Reckart Performance Tuning of Austin help. This includes stock, modified and/or retrofit applications. Unlike the handheld programmers that use one tune for all, we custom design the tune for your vehicle to maximize your performance and efficiency. We use HP Tuners MPVI and this allows full engine tuning for heads, cams, torque converters, gears, larger engine displacement engines, intake manifolds, throttle bodies, forced induction, etc. The pricing structure is $150 for a basic tune and $250 for a full engine tune that include the use of a PLX Wideband Sensor. When the vehicle is complete, the PCM is not locked. Unlike other tuners, we believe YOU should have access to your PCM at anytime.

$150 Service:

1. Copy the stock file and save it as a read only file. This enables the PCM to be reverted back to stock at anytime. Copies of the stock and modified files are available.

2. Speedometer and Odometer adjustments due to non stock tire/wheel size and/or non stock rear gears.

3. Fan Temperature On/Off adjustments with stock or non stock thermostat to keep the engine cooler (electric fans only).

4. Automatic Transmission Performance adjustments to line pressure and shift points. This is really beneficial for high stall torque converters. This includes the 4 speed (4L60E) and 6 speed (6L80E) Paddle Shift Automatics.

5. Mass Air Flow Table adjustments for aftermarket parts such as Headers, Cold Air Intake, Intake Manifold, Throttlebody to name a few. This will help gain 1-2 MPG increase,

6. Scan the car for knock retard and eliminate with spark control or fueling.

7. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) modifications (offroad use only).

8. Crank Sensor Relearn (CASE), if available.

9. Cylinder Balance Test – Test the mechanical condition of the cylinder, if available.

10. Torque Management Modifications – This is the performance killer in stock form.

$250 Service:

1. Includes the $150 service.

2. Temporarily install a wideband O2 sensor in the exhaust stream to monitor the air to fuel ratio.

3. Adjust the volumetric efficiency table to achieve the desired AFR and this can be for stock, heads/cam, forced induction, etc. This takes some time to make it right.

4. Adjust the Mass Air Flow Table to the desired AFR for wide open throttle.

5. Optimize the high and low octane spark tables.

6. Idle table adjustments due to cam selection and includes throttle body diameter.

With the use of HP Tuners MPVI, I have several custom operating systems available for 1998+ vehicles that include Enhanced MAF, Speed Density, 1, 2, 3 Bar Configurations, and Real Time Tuning (1999+).  For a complete supported vehicle list, http://www.hptuners.com/products/vcmsuite_vehicles.php

Thank You,

Reckart Performance Tuning

Brian, I have the same exact car except auto so the wife could drive if needed. I would like to know what hp increase you got from the air filter upgrade and what the cost and hassle was. I use liquid gold and the shine is awesome. Get tons of compliments on the color. Mine is 2009 I ordered in Florida. I have 2,700 miles now. Had to add some air to the nitrogen in the tires as getting the nitrogen is a real pain. My daughter lives near you in Austin and saw you car in their area. Atomic orange rocks!! I used to have a 409 (425) with 5:14 rear, 2 E series 4 barrels etc when younger. Hope you answer the question, beautiful car, enjoy!!! Bob
