Part 3: Beefing up the 41TE Automatic Transmission
Thanks to a tip from Oscar on 2gss.org, and the PT Cruiser guys over at PTCrew.com, I found AJ Berge. Master of all things Chrysler, especially transmissions. AJ designed and built automatic transmissions used by Darrel Cox Racing for SRT-4's, and also built one used in their land speed record car. I shipped my transmission off to him, and 2 weeks later I got it back with a Phantom Grip LSD, 3500rpm high stall torque converter, and lots of billet and kevlar upgrades. The transmission he built me is rated to handle over 425 HP and torque to the wheels.

Here are some pictures he sent me of the build in progress:

I had him powder coat the transmission case for me, this is what it looked like when I got it back:

Here's the engine, transmission, and turbo getting ready to go back into the car:

Not quite, goal for this year was to hit a 12, final goal was as close to an 11.5 without going faster as possible. Need to max it out on just the turbo first, then add the Nitrous if I'm still not there. Next is suspension, then eventually a new paint job and some more interior work.
