Travis’s Ford Probe:
“BI POLAR”

CAR DOMAIN USER GUIDE When posting on someones page and you get that damn annoying error messege instead of waiting 30 seconds and ending up with 2 of the same post , just hit refresh and it will only post your messege once right away.

THANKS TO EVERYONE THAT GAVE THEIR SUPORT TO ME FOR SOTW AND TO CAR DOMAIN FOR PICKING MY PAGES.

Out of the mists of hell came the thunderous echo of 170 horses roaring thru the valley. The fog was thick and the fear or anticipation of what was approaching sends goosebumps down the spine.

Welcome To my Probe GT pages, I know I go thru a lot of cars but I think I just like the thrill of the hunt.

For those of you that don't know the story of the Probe , The Probe was Ford's attempt to redesign the Mustang for front wheel drive. With Ford co-owning Mazda, Mazda designers were asked to design the car and after many revisions and corprate compromises came up with the Probe. Fox bodied Mustang fans freaked out and were ready to burn detroit to the ground if the Probe was released as the new Mustang so a name change was done. In 93 the Probe was car of the year and was the first car to offer dual air bags as standard equipment. After steadily dropping sales the Probe line was dropped after 97. In the Probes defense Ford has never really been a company know for heavy promotions of their cars, they just throw it out in the market and if it takes off they make a million more, if not they terminate it. When the Probe line was going to be reintroduced Ford decided to take it in a different direction and the new Probe was renamed the new Cougar. Now that you know you can see the simularities. The Probe isn't really Ford but a cross of Ford and Mazda and actually produced by Auto Alliance the joint venture of the 2 companies. It is mostly Mazda built in an unused Ford plant. That's the basic history lesson on the Probe.

I am disappointed it's an automatic but when it comes down to it I'm a lazy driver and although I want it to perform well and look like a racer I rather just put it in D and go 90% of the time.
the GT plastic part on the drivers door is broke but a cheap ebay find, The rest of the car is very nice.

It has the 2.5 ltr 6 cyl. Everything under the hood is clean but of coarse I have to give it all a personal touch and a lil kick. Looking at the stock airbox I can't believe these cars get enough air to even start let alone perform.

The interior of the car is very clean and a snug fit. All power options work great, cruise works , rear defrost and wiper, How rare is that? First car I owned all that still worked.
The suspention is tight and the car grips well. I think that that would be an unnecessary expense to upgrade that at this time. I'll start with fixing the body issues and air intake and exhaust upgrades. And of coarse stereo, absolute must!
some specs on the probe.....
2.5 L V-6

164 hp @ 5600 rpm
160 torque @ 4000 rpm
displacement 2507
bore & stroke 3.33x2.92
compression ratio 9.2
stock curb weight 2,998
I have learned that every 18 lbs shed is good for the equvalent of 1 more hp from some wonderful Probe sites. It's nice to have a car with some upgrades offered and tips for making it better without buying a thing.

Here's a pic of both of my current cars together.

Notice the rear hatch stays up on it's own even in the cold. How cool is that?

If your too lazy to view all the pages here's some of what your missing.

Image borrowed with permission from Mike's mx6 pages. Thanks man!

Some over weight bitch with a suitcase of a purse thought if she parked a foot away from my car she could shoehorn her big ass out without hitting my car. Yeah right! Gouged the shit out of my paint so I caved in her door with a good flat donkey kick in the middle of it.

5-11-08 Bought a 93 Probe GT with a 5 speed.

Thanks for checking out the GT. Say Hi in the guestbook and rate it on the way out. Make sure you view all the pages before rating please! View my other cars as well , I'm proud of them all. Do I have $50,000 into the car? No, but I have paid for everything myself. Do I have a 100 mods done yet? No , but I have done everything myself and so far haven't hired out any of the work. I am proud of what I'm turning this car into and get great satisfaction that others approve as well and knowing I did it all myself. My wife has helped with getting at bolts where my hands won't fit but that is all the help I have gotten. Not downplaying the importance of her help because I couldn't have done it without her.
