Hey Bjorn! Congrats on picking up one of the best all round cars in the world! Yes, I drive my beast in the winter and the DSC really helps. Of course, you have to turn it off every now and then to allow wheel spin to get going on ice or going uphill on ice. I'm running Style 66 BMW rims with Pirelli 235/45/17 94H Wintersport 210's. They're more high performance winter than anything for higher speeds but still remain pliable in the cold weather for decent traction on snow and okay on ice. You may want to go with some blizzaks for better snow and ice traction than what I've got on mine. If you check your manual, they suggest nothing smaller than 235/45/17 for winter tires. I wouldn't put winters on your 18's.Check out http://www.m5board.com/ for everything to do with M5's. The best resource on the net. Cheers!
