for the pics of what Ive done go here

My car is a '03 Mazda Protege that runs a 2.0L FS-DE DOHC motor. I've pushed her to roughly 124 on I25, but so far I haven't really tried to push her hard. She's 5 speed for added fun, which proves to both a blessing and curse on some of the roads out here (traffic jams ftl.)

As for audio, Ive installed a Pioneer head unit with IPOD and Bluetooth support via add-ons, with the IPOD support cable snaked into my glove compartment. My head unit controls my IPOD and everything including my bluetooth phone, which is kind of nice when your driving down the road blaring music (ringer comes in over the speakers, and actual ringer Ive chosen on my phone, lol, not lame ring noise, pioneer ingenuity ftw.) I only really use the bluetooth to let me know of incoming calls, beyond that, I have my little in ear headset (jabra ftw.)

Stock wheels atm, bought a pair of 16" motegis wrapped in nitto neogens (want to keep the lowered look, hence not so big wheels and low pros), hopefully they will be in soon. Handles great on the roads, especially around hair pins out on north cheyenne, 26th street's double cut backs, Garden of the Gods, Bear Creek Park, Helen Hunt Falls and rampart range (local roads of interest.)

No tach oddly enough (baseline models, I guess it is what you could expect), but I fixed that with an after market sunpro.

Seats are finished, and installed. Not liking how high the stock mounts hold my buckets, but I'll fix that once my sparco mounts and sliders are in. (pics are in the link to flickr above the first paragraph)

Interior is basic, switched out the stock shifter with a twm short throw shifter and a white shift knob (lol, I <3 my little white shift knob, no pics oddly enough, soon maybe), and the pedals, but nothing too fancy. Went to the local salvage yard, Best Imports FTW, and replaced a few bits on my doors and such from previous owner's stupidity.

Switched out my lighting with some Hella 9003 Xenon bulbs for an even glow, also installed hella fog lamps behind the front of my grill by my license plate. It gives a nice hidden look to them, and also kind of perserves my anonymity whenever I go just a little to fast by CSPD.) Motor has been upgraded with a AEM CAI coupled with a K&N filter. The AEM dry flow filter that came with my CAI was alright, but I found it was more of a hassle to maintain, and I have to admit, the K&N has me wowed. I have 5.0 wires (for the life of me I cant remember the company atm) connecting to NGK iridium plugs. Suspension has been tightened with aftermarket racing beat sways, A no name carbon fiber strut tower brace on the front (thinking of switching out to a corksport brace), tien s sport springs, and kyb agx struts (p.ain in the ass to find, but fully adjustable rocks my socks. Its a definite plus/must on track day with the SCCA, and out on the roads)

future mods could possibly be a fs-ze swap, or a turbo setup, both range around the same price in the end. The turbo setup will be a hiboost turbo kit with a hks timer. The fs-ze swap seems to have more pull, jdm status and all, not to mention 180hp na. Ill have to drop the compression for the turbo if i were to boost it later on, but that fs-ze motor just seems so damn sexy, lol. Though in resent perspective, drop the compression, its pretty much an OBD-I fs-de...

For now racing beat cat back exhaust is on the way. Im thinking since college is a bit pinching on the monetary backing, I might just go with some 4-2-1 OBX headers and call it a day until I'm out of UCCS.
