This is my new ride which I purchased in January 2008. Here is a list of some mods:
-2" OME lift.
-Wheels were replaced with '04 tundra wheels.
-Bushwacker fender flares.
-Spray on box liner.
-Custom headache rack.
-Hidden hitch under license plate.
-Electric winch to lower spare tire.

This white truck is a friend of mine that helped me find my truck. His truck is newer but as you can see my truck looks much better.

After getting back from a week holiday I came home to find that my torsion bar broke. (not sure how this happened just sitting in my driveway) and that my diff seal needs to be replaced. The search is now on to find a replacement torsion bar.

I started thinking well if I need new torsion bars why not just get an entire suspension kit. So after talking with my buddy and doing lots of reading I decided to get a 2" OME suspension lift. It should be hear by next week.

In this photo you can see my broken torsion bar. I would have to say your best friend in taking part a suspension is bolts that have very little rust and are not seized. Unfortunetly this was not the case for this project. We ended up cutting the bolt of the torsion bar off with a hack saw. Every bolt that was removed was a struggle. Can't wait to start the drivers side.

This is the passenger wheel well. Almost everything has been removed. The lower control arm bolt is going to be cut off with a hack saw later this week. After taking everything apart I have decided to do preventative maintanence and replace many more parts so I will not have to change them down the road. The list is starting to pile up.

So 5 hours later and whole bunch of reciprocating blades later I got the lower control arm off. Once again the joy of working with rust comes into play.

Almost all of the parts have arrived. Just waiting on some bushings on backorder and a couple of bolts from Toyota. It is starting to look more like a project car than my daily driver.

Whoever came up with the design of the brake assembly should get a kick in the crotch. It seems with this truck nothing was designed to be taken apart. I guess Toyota assumed all parts would never need to be replaced.

So I cleaned and repainted most of the parts. I also put on some asphalt undercoating.

I forgot to take photos as we went. But in the photo you can see the new torsion bar, shock, pitman arm. The caliper, rotor brake pad, metal and rubber brake lines were replaced. If you look at the very back I also replaced the starter.

So for the first time in 5 months my truck is out of the garage. Needs to go in for a wheel alignment as it was way out.

This is my front suspension. Basically everything in this photo is brand new.

Got my new rear shocks and new leafs installed. I am so happy it is all done.

All of the effort is complete and this is the final product. I have to give a shout out to jake_928 for all of his help. I could not have done this without him. Everyone check out his ride. He has got one sweet tacoma.
